I've just come back to my hometown with my family after an interval of seven years. Since I'm familiar with the city, settling down is like a no-brainer
. I can see trivial differences here and there, of course, but it doesn't seem to bother me a bit. I even find it very intriguing that
coming across some changes, especially when seeing a high-class hotel in place of an abandoned old building. It may take time to be back to my normal life with miscellaneous affairs for a while, but I'm sure that I'll be able to settle down in this city with my old and new friends...

No-brainer" is something you have to think about, to work out. Settling in isn't a mental process so "a piece of cake" is perhaps better here.
