I visited an English workshop called "MEC" this morning for the first time in months. MEC stands for "Moms' English Club," which I set up with one of my close friends around 10 years ago. While I was away due to my husband's transfer, my friends firmly maintained our place to study with a native speaker of English.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself spending 2 hours speaking English. We had a newcomer today, and she was pretty bright and affable. I think she was a bit nervous to be with us, but I'm sure that she'll fit in our get-together perfectly.
Speaking English is wonderful because I'm sensing that typical introverted Japanese people seem to feel easy to express their feelings in English, not in our mother tongue. It may sound funny, but I feel so from my experience.
Well, I'm lucky to have the workshop. I have been lucky to have friends. I'm still struggling between motherhood and work a bit, but I'll try to be organized to join our club continually.
